Below is some information to give you knowledge on the different types of Extension Installs:

Microlinks, I-Tip, Individuals

Strand by Strand technique where the extension hair strand and your hair is pulled through a small silicone-lined tube/bead which is then squeezed shut with a special tool to attach the extension to your hair.

-Micro-beads can be moved up when they slip down the hair shaft (as your hair grows) which is when you come in for a tightening and move them back up. Hair is reusable.

-Easy installation and removal.

-NO heat or glue used to install, silicone beads protect hair.

MicroWeft, MicroLink Wefts

A weft is attached to a divided section of the client’s hair. Two

strands (one from the scalp and another from the weft) are joined and pulled through a micro ring, which is then flattened. This way the weft is attached by fitting together several strands both from the weft and the scalp.

-The heaviest technique because hair is installed with weft hair but great for someone with thick hair.

-NO heat or glue used to install, silicone beads protect hair.

Hot Fusion, U-Tip, Keratin Tip

A small amount of Keratin protein bond material is pre-attached or utilized on the ends of a strand. The extension strands are then attached to small sections of your hair near the scalp by warming the Keratin and forming a small bond to your hair. The site of attachment is so that the extensions can move naturally with your own hair. These extensions last 4 – 6 months or more and should be removed or replaced at that time.

-The bond is melted and rolled into a strand of your hair. As with all extensions, natural hair is left out along the top of the head and the hairline to cover the bonds.

Tape, Skin Weft

A small weft of extension hair is attached to a thin layer strip, with tape on one side. -The skin weft is taped to your hair by sandwiching small sections of your hair between 2 pieces of weft. -Hair can be reused by applying new tape to the small taped wefts.

Extensions Care Tips:

Do not wash your hair until 48 hours after the extensions have been installed.

Brushing- Prevents matting and tangles. Brush from bottom to top preferably using a loop brush. If hair keeps tangling braid hair into one big braid on the back of the head at night. Use a satin pillow to also prevent tangling. Wash Carefully & Gently- Start with a conditioner at the bottom of the hair and work your way up trying to avoid too much on a root. Do not comb or brush extensions when wet because this will rip out hairs and lead to a shorter life for them. Do not wash your hair upside down. Do not scrub hair aggressively. Use good quality hair shampoo and conditioner and do stay away from ones that contain sulfur and alcohol as it breaks down the bond faster than desired. Don’t wash your hair too much. I recommend washing the hair as infrequently as possible and using a dry shampoo to absorb oils and make your hair feel and smell fresh. Certain hard or mineral-intense water may also deteriorate bonds.

*Keep them moisturized, especially when you style extensions often. When your extensions are dry, comb a little bit of oil or leave the conditioner evenly (DO NOT get on the root). Don’t overdo it because they’ll become greasy easier than your natural hair.

*Only use irons and curlers when your hair is dry. It’s better to let extensions Dry naturally.

*Extensions always look better and more realistic when hair is curled and if you are going to put them in a ponytail make it a low ponytail, nothing on top of the head.

*If you have fusion/keratin tips extensions do not clamp your flat iron over the bonds, it will melt the glue.

*If extensions start getting loose or your hair has grown more than 2inchs contact me for an appointment to tighten them and bring them up.

Extensions do not damage your hair. Damage occurs from poor maintenance, styling tools, and excess pulling of the hair. If you follow these aftercare instructions, your hair extensions will remain beautiful and natural

Sulfate-free shampoo should be used with all extension hair to extend the life of the hair
